With Voico, you can securely communicate with your family and friends. Voico is easy to use and works through your existing phone number. Voico advantages: You can securely message, audio and video call other Voico users all over the world for free over the internet. Voico uses the internet connected to your phone (WiFi or mobile data connection). Invite your contacts to Voico so you can chat and call for free.
To register to Voico, you only need your existing phone number. To complete registration, you have to be able to receive the SMS verification code on your phone or be able to receive the verification code through a phone call to this number. You can register with: Mobile phone number *Please be advised of the following: - A phone number can only be registered to Voico on one mobile phone at a time. - All Voico messages and calls that you send or receive will show the registered number you provided. Follow these steps to register on Voico Android Step 1. Install and open Voico. Step 2. Verify your phone number. Step 3. Tap Register. Step 4: Confirm phone number and Tap Continue. Step 5: You will then receive on the phone the SMS verification code or you can request a call for the verification code number after the one-minute timeout. SMS Verification Once the SMS verification code is sent to your mobile number, Voico will automatically pick up the 6-digit verification code. No further action is needed. It is possible to proceed to Call Verification if you are alerted that the SMS verification failed. Call Verification The verification code can be delivered to you by a phone call instead of SMS. Be ready to write down the 6-digit verification code or to remember it. Follow these steps to receive a call for verification code: Step 1. Tap Call Me to request the call. Step 2. You will receive a call with the verification number. Step 3. Enter manually this verification number in Voico. Step 4. Tap Verify Step 5. Once above steps completed, your registration is complete.
Voico offers you unblocked audio and video calls. All communications with Voico are secure. You can audio or video call by completing the following steps: Step 1. Make sure you have completed registration to Voico. Step 2. Open Voico Step 3. If you are a UAE resident, ensure you have an active Internet Calling Plan subscription from your operator Step 4. If you are UAE resident, activate your Voico Pro package Step 5. Open a chat with the contact you want to call Step 6. Tap the phone icon. Step 7. To start a video call, tap on the camera icon below your contact's name to allow the camera from your side of the call. Step 8. You will see "Connecting" and hear a connecting tone while waiting to connect with your contact. You will remain "Connecting" if your contact is offline. Step 9. You will see "Ringing" and hear a ringing tone when your contact's phone is online and ringing. Make sure that both video and microphone permissions are enabled for video calls.
Voico offers you free messaging in addition to unblocked voice and video calls. Follow these steps to chat with a contact: Step 1. Make sure you have completed registration to Voico. Step 2. Open Voico. Step 3. Tap on the message compose icon message to view your Voico contact list. Step 4. Select a contact and it will open a chat with this contact. Step 5. Tap into the area where you type a message. Step 6. Type your message, attach and edit your image or record an audio note. Step 7. Tap the send icon to send a message. Step 8. If you have set Voico as your default SMS/MMS app and don't want your communication to be secure, then press longer on the send icon to switch to the gray-icon to send an insecure SMS/MMS.
In your profile, you can edit your name and picture. Your profile will be shown together with your phone number when communicating with other Voico users. It will be shared with the contacts in your address book as well as in groups in you have created. Steps to edit your Voico profile? Step 1: Open Voico. Step 2: Choose Settings. Step 3: Tap on your name. Step 4: Tap on image or avatar to edit. Step 5: Tap on name to edit. Step 6: Tap Finish to accept changes.
When you Tap your Voico contact list, all the contacts from your phone that use Voico will be listed. You can securely message and call them from this list. If you choose that Voico Android replaces completely your Android phone's messaging app by enabling Voico as your default messaging app, then you will see all your contacts listed. If you want to message with features of disappearing messages and sending any file type then invite your contacts to Voico. These steps will guide you to invite your contacts to Voico: Step1: Open Voico. Step 2: Tap on the Menu icon Step 3: Tap Invite friends. Step 4: - Choose contacts that you want to send them an invite by SMS. Another screen will appear where you can select contacts by tapping on the square in the right column, then choose 'Send to # Friend(s)' in the bottom right corner to send the invite SMS. or - Choose to Share through another app. (Voico will create a draft message that you can then send or post). Step 5: Send the message or email.
Voico uses your Android phone's contact list. Follow the next steps to make changes to your Android phone contact list. Resync and refresh Voico following changes to your contact list. If you do not see the names of your contacts, make sure to remove unnamed contact entries. To Edit contact's number: Step 1. Open your Android phone contacts app and choose the contact entry to edit. Step 2. Add the + and the country code to your contact's number. - For numbers from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the number should start with +5521. - For numbers from Mexico, the number should start with +521. - For numbers from Argentina, the number should start with +549. Step 3. Save the number on your phone's internal storage/locally instead of a SIM card or on the cloud. To resync your contacts: Step 1. Go to Android Settings. Step 2. Choose Accounts. Step 3. Choose Voico. Step 4. Tap on the Menu. Step 5. Choose Remove Account. The alert of clearing data is incorrect, your messages will not be deleted. Step 6. Open Voico. Step 7. Tap on the message compose icon. Step 8. Tap on the Menu icon. Step 9. Choose Refresh. To remove unnamed contact entries: Step 1. Go to Android's contacts app. Step 2. Scroll to the bottom to look for contacts with a # icon. Step 3. Delete all "#" contacts at the end of the contact list.
Many settings are required for good reception of messages. Check out the list below to make sure that Voico has all the settings and permissions: 1 - Update to the latest version of Voico. 2 - Enable all the permissions for Voico. - Open Phone Settings > Apps or Apps & Notifications > Voico > App Permissions or Permissions > Enable all permissions. Even if it is already enabled, turn it off and back on, then restart your phone. 3 - Allow Voico to use the battery/power. - Open Phone Settings > Battery > Unmonitored apps > Add apps > Voico > Done > Restart your phone. 4 - Allow Voico to use data when in the background. - Open Phone Settings > Data usage > make sure Voico is allowed to work if you have selected 'Restrict app background data'. - Disable 'Doze mode' or optimization: Open Phone Settings > Battery > All Apps > Voico > Don't optimize > Done > Restart your phone. - Disable 'Aggressive Doze mode' or enable Voico: Open Phone Settings > Battery > Menu > Aggressive Doze & App Hibernation > Disable or prevent Voico from being limited in this mode. - Open Phone Settings > Data Usage > Data Saver > make sure Voico is allowed to work in this setting or disable this feature entirely. 5 - Allow Voico to work in priority mode. - Open Phone Settings > Sound & notification > App notifications > Voico> Enable Priority. 6 - Include Voico in the list of apps that are allowed to start themselves. - Open Phone Settings > Security > Permissions > Autostart > Allow Voico > Restart your phone. - Open Phone Settings > All > Startup manager > Allow Voico > Restart your phone. Check that Voico is enabled through specific steps for Huawei phones. Check optimization settings and disable "MIUI Optimization" through specific steps on Xiaomi phones. 7 - Update Google Play services app on your phone. 8 - Enable notifications. - Open Phone Settings > Apps > Voico > Check on Show notifications. - Go to Voico > Settings > Notifications > Enable message notifications. 9 - Reset your Google Account. - Open Phone Settings > Applications > Manage applications > All (Swipe right on some phones for this list, if not listed in Downloaded). - Choose Google Play services > Clear data. - Choose Google services framework > Clear data. - Temporarily unlink your Google account from the phone. - Reboot the phone. - Re-associate your Google account. 10 - Enable background data. - Open Phone Settings > Data Usage > Menu > uncheck 'Restrict background data'. 11 - Enable Voico to work while the screen is off. 12 - Disable WiFi optimization (Android 4.2). - Open Phone Settings > Wi-Fi > Advanced > uncheck Wi- Fi optimization. 13 - Edit your VPN settings. - Open Android Phone Settings > More (Under Wireless & Networks) > VPN then disable Wi-Fi Assistant. 14 - Check that you have free space in internal memory of your phone, not the SD card. You can free up space by deleting some apps. 15 - Allow Voico in your firewall's settings.
New Android phone: Download and install Voico Android and register with your phone number. All new messaging and calling will be handled by this new phone. A new install of Voico also generates a new safety number with your contacts. 2-If you were previously on Android and have a plaintext backup of your Voico messages you can import this onto your new Android phone. 3-Re-link any instances of Voico Desktop. New phone number Step 1. Leave all groups. Notify your group members that you will be leaving the group and will need them to add your new number to the group. Step 2. Unregister your Voico number. This will prevent you from missing messages until your contacts update their phones with your new number. Step 3. Reinstall or re-register with your new number. Step 4. Ask your contacts to add your new number to the groups that you left. 5-Re-link any instances of Voico Desktop.
You can unregister your number on our webpage or through Voico. Follow these steps to unregister through Voico Android: Step 1. Open Voico. Step 2. Tap on the menu icon. Step 3. Tap on Settings. Step 4. Tap on Advanced. Step 5. Tap on Voico messages. Step 6. Choose OK.
Follow these steps to block unwanted contacts. They will no longer be able to call you or send you messages. Blocked contacts will not be notified that you have blocked them. Steps to block a number: Step 1. Go to the chat conversation with your contact. Step 2. Tap on your contact's name or number in the above section of the conversation. Step 3. Scroll down the page and Choose Block. Step 4. Confirm Block. A circle with a slash will indicate that your contact is blocked. You will need to unblock to continue sending messages. To view which numbers you have blocked: Step 1. Go to the main screen. Step 2. Tap on the Menu icon. Step 3. Tap on Settings. Step 4. Tap on Privacy. Step 5. Select Blocked contacts.
To have the full Voico experience, permissions must be enabled for some features. Enabling these permissions will still keep all your communications secure. Identity - Find accounts on the device - Allows Voico to find accounts. Go to System Settings > Accounts, to check for Voico contacts. - Read your own contact card - Access to your contacts is required to associate incoming phone numbers with names and to enable the display of contact information when you are writing messages. - Edit your own contact card - Voico can add new phone numbers to existing contacts and create also brand-new contacts. Contacts - Find accounts on the device - Allows Voico to find accounts. Go to System Settings > Accounts, to check for Voico contacts. - Read your contacts - Access to your contacts is required to associate incoming phone numbers with names and to enable the display of contact information when you are writing messages. - Edit your contacts - Voico can add new phone numbers to existing contacts and create also brand-new contacts. Phone - Directly call phone numbers - Reroute outgoing calls - Allows call handling for insecure calls. - Read call log - Used to display the list of recently used contacts when you are composing a new message from a share action. - Read phone status and identity - Allows Voico to determine your phone number and Device ID, important to register for Voico. SMS Read your text messages (SMS or MMS) Receive text messages (MMS) Receive text messages (SMS) Send SMS messages Edit your text messages (SMS or MMS) - Voico can be used as a complete replacement to your phone's stock messaging application. To allow this, it needs to be able to send and receive text messages (both SMS and MMS). You can also import your existing messages into Voico when it is first installed. These permissions allow also that database to be read. Photos/Media/Files - Read the contents of your USB storage - - Edit or delete the contents of your USB storage - Voico stores its encrypted database on your phone. When you receive incoming picture, video, or audio messages these are stored locally on your phone. These permissions are also important to enable import/export functionality. Camera Take pictures and videos - You can take a picture directly from Voico and send it in a message. If you take a picture through the app then the image is encrypted on capture, as a draft, and when sending. If you attach an image taken by a different app, the image is encrypted during message writing, sending (or receiving), but is still available unencrypted through your third- party camera app. Microphone Record audio - Allows you to be heard when on audio and video calls and to record audio notes. Wi-Fi connection information View Wi-Fi connections - Required to be able to receive SMS, MMS and Voico messages under various networks (e.g. 3G, WiFi, LTE, etc.). Voico messages are sent and received over the internet and do not use traditional SMS/MMS. This also allows Voico to determine when services are not available. For example, MMS sent over T-Mobile needs the cellular network and Wi-Fi turned off to succeed, and Voico handles this case by itself. Device ID & call information Read phone status and identity - Allows Voico to determine your phone number and Device ID, important to register for Voico. Location Approximate location (network-based) Precise location (GPS and network-based) - Allows you to share your current location by sending it as a message to your friends. Storage - Read the contents of your USB storage - Edit or delete the contents of your USB storage - Voico stores its encrypted database on your phone. When you receive incoming picture, audio or video messages these are stored locally on your phone. These permissions are also important in order to enable import/export functionality. - Pair with Bluetooth devices - Allows use of a Bluetooth connection while on a call. - Disable your screen lock - Allows Voico to keep the phone unlocked while on a call. - Change your audio settings - Used for sound notifications. - Read sync settings - Allows the app to receive messages on time. - Run at startup - Enables Voico to handle the reception of messages when the phone first starts up but before the user has unlocked Voico. This option is to prevent delay in receiving messages. - Set wallpaper - Allows the app to set the wallpaper - Control vibration - Used for vibrating notifications. - Prevent device from sleeping - Allows Voico to keep the phone active when performing certain tasks such as delivering or receiving messages. - Toggle sync on and off - This is used to make sure your contacts are up to date and is the standard way in modern Android to handle syncing. Go to System Settings > Accounts.
With Voico Android, users can: - start and edit Chat groups. Private group chat: - This group consists of all Voico users with no limit for the number of contacts that can be added to the group. - You can name the group and set a group avatar. - Everyone in the group can communicate with each other. - All communications are transmitted over the internet and are free and secure. Follow the below steps to create a group chat: Step 1. Open Voico. Step 2. Tap on the Menu icon. Step 3. Tap on New group. Step 4. Tap Add

Type message in the group. Any member can start messaging in the group. Follow these steps to leave a group chat: Step 1. Enter your group conversation. Step 2. Tap on the Menu icon. Step 3. - Choose Leave. Once you leave the group you can still view past messages but no longer receive group messages or updates. Or - Delete a group conversation by pressing long on your unwanted conversation thread. Tap on trashcan and choose Delete to confirm deleting the group thread.
Each conversation has a unique safety number that allows you to verify the security of your messages and calls. You can view a safety number: Step 1. Open conversation. Step 2. Tap on the contact's name to access the settings. Step 3. Choose "Show safety number". You can then compare the numbers or scan a single QR code to make sure the same number is displayed on both your phone and your contact's phone and optionally mark the safety number as verified to store the result of the comparison. Verification of safety numbers is a good way to make sure your communications are secure. If a safety number has been marked as verified, any change must be manually approved before sending a new message. Safety number change notification You will be notified whenever a safety number has changed. It allows users to verify the privacy of their communication with a contact and helps protect against any attempted man-in-the- middle attacks. The most common scenarios where a safety number advisory is generated are when a contact reinstalls Voico or gets a new phone. However, if a safety number changes frequently or unexpectedly it may be a sign that something is wrong.

All members will immediately see each other in this group and anyone can message within the group. Members can choose to leave the group and can not get kicked out of a group.

Voico is not charging internet calling service fees, our app is free and available worldwide. UAE operators provide internet calls as a paid service, therefore calls with Voico will not work without active internet calling service enabled by your operator.

Please consider, that together with monthly internet calling subscription, you will receive unlimited data bundle for your internet calls in both Etisalat and Du networks, while customers in other countries have to pay for their data usage. If you use our app for regular calling, the free unlimited data bundle compensates charged fees.
No, Voico app is supported by advertisers. If you find ads in your app interface as inconvenient, you can disable them by paying Voico Pro subscription. This subscription will not enable internet calling.
If you call another UAE resident, internet calling service must be enabled on both sides. Calls to UAE located users, who do not have internet calling service subscription, will not work.
No, you can send and receive calls without subscription, but while calling a UAE resident, make sure that this person has active internet calling service subscription.
Internet calling subscriptions works on that internet connection where it has been enabled. This means, that calls on WiFi will not work when internet calling service has been subscribed for mobile data and vice versa, internet calling service subscription for WiFi will not let you place calls over mobile data.
If you did not subscribe to internet calling service or Voico PRO, you will not be charged any fees. You can still use Voico for messaging without being charged.
Let us check your internet calling service. In order to make it smooth and effective, please do following steps: - Just after a failed call attempt, or after a call that was unexpectedly disconnected, go to app Settings -> Advanced and press "submit debug log" button. - Copy the link returned by app and create support ticket, providing description of your issue, your phone number and exact time when you faced the problem.
For batery saving purposes, some specific device and/or Android settings may block Push notifications from our App and thus, call and messaging features may not work properly when App is in background. If you experience push notification issue, please check settings for following devices:
